Legal action on obstructing public servant from execution of his duty

(Querist) 26 June 2014 This query is : Resolved
- Residents of our locality have formed "Housing Society", which comprises of more than 70% of total residents.

- During the course of implementation of SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) Scheme of redevelopment, officers from Collector's office visited our locality to conduct the Survey.

- However, the said officers from Collector's Office were stopped by few residents who are against the Developer selected by Society.

- These few residents are actually the ones who had initially suggested us the same Developer which they are opposing now.

- Request you to confirm the legal action that can be taken against these persons for obstructing the public servant from execution of his duty other than section 186 & 353 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Neither it is your headache, nor you or your society can file any case against the persons on behlf of the Government (Collector's office). It is for the collector's office to take notice of the offence, if any. If the Collector wants to file a case against them, he can do so after consulting the DGC of his area.
