Signature difference and original deed is lost

To take expert opinion on signature difference on any documents, both documents are to be in original.

If the party who owns the original documents claims that original are lost,

Does proof of burden is transfered to person who has lost the documents?

Scanned copy over xerox copy is valid for expert opinion ?

How to proceed to prove the forgery ?

If original document is lost the party should obtain duplicate / certified copy of the document from concerned authority.

Yes, onus to prove loss lies on the party who lost.

No, it cannot be vetted with scanned or photocopy.

Circumstances of commission of forgery has to be analysed before forming proper opinion.
