As known to the whole world that India has unity in diversity.  Since from time immemorial people belonging to different religion are practicing their own customs and practices.  It may be Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Buddhism, Christianity etc.  The history of India shows that, the great leaders without any religion and caste discrimination have fought together and sacrificed their lives to restore peace in the country and spread the message of non-violence.  Their contribution is a gift to the world.  Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi had a vision in mind to free the country from invaders and enable people to live in harmony.  But is the same vision nurtured by us?

We have been facing serious threats from enemy countries.  Countries are envy of the growth of our country always try to disrupt our integrity.  Even today, it cannot be denied that, our country is free from attacks.  Terrorism is one of the greatest weapons for people with such evil intentions.

Our responsibility does not end with electing a Candidate to form a Government.  It is not possible for Government alone to fight against Terrorism.  It is very difficult for the small number of troops to eradicate terrorism.  The time is ripe for each one of us to face this situation and challenge it.  It is the duty of every citizen to contribute towards this war against terrorism.  Our Constitution defines that it is our fundamental duty to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India [Part VIA Article 51A (c)].  Every citizen who fights against Terrorism is a Soldier.  Unless we are aware of about terrorism, we cannot succeed.  It is not only the awareness, it requires us to be always vigil of the people and things around us,  raise alarm wherever there is suspicion,  to well equip ourselves to face the situations bravely, and also to be tactful to handle the situations when there is bomb blasts and other natural calamities.

A remarkable step taken by law making and law protection authorites is highly applaudable. The Hon’ble Chief Justice and Hon’ble Justices of Karnataka High Court have joined their hands with Police by way of conducting camps to educate the people and make themselves aware about prevention and management of disaster incidents.

Unity is strength and with this strength we have to retain the status of India as a country having unity in diversity.  As rightly said by Swami Vivekananda “ if we love our country then we should struggle for higher and better things” .
