"Public notice Duration"

Respected Sir/Madam.

I have query regarding public notice in newspaper regarding the lost of mother deeds of property. Once we give public notice regarding lost of mother deeds in newspaper,  What is duration by which some other person can claim( To exploit lost information) ?. (if no timeline is specified in newspaper for claiming. Only request has been made if found to return without any timeline) . I mean upon which time will claim by some other person is invalid? .  So will my property is safe from litigation in future?

Sagar,

Agreeing with what Mr. Sivasubramanian has said, I would like to add that it is better to intimate the District Sub-Registrar, within whose jurisdiction the property is situated, about the loss of the documents so as to prevent any person from making unauthorised transfer of property to third persons by impersonation.

I agree with the view given by Sri Subramanian . The first precaution is to inform the Local police station and give a Public Notice so that we can defend for any charge created fictiously by some person subsequent to the said Notifcation .
