After sale dispute over ancestral land

Respected Sir, iI have brought a plot from a lady named Anita. Anita was given that plot by her mother. Now Anita's siblings claim That it was ancestral property. If they file a 

case in court will i be affected?? I have brought the plot by registration of sale deed. thanks .please reply.

property thats got through the maternal side is not ancestral property and moreover once if the property gets into the hands of a women (her share in the ancestral property) it becomes her absolute property.so she can give it to whomever she wants to give

It is guessed the Deceased mother (of Anita) and Anita are Hindu.

 

You have not posted how the proeprty was given by mother to Anita.

If a Hindu Female dies without disposing her property in her life time and without leaving a valid WILL then her property shall devolve equally upon husband, sons and daughters.

 

If mother was sole owner of the property and transferred the property by a valid deed to Anita then other siblings may not  have a legal claim.

 

You may show all docs on record e.g. mutation record, link docs to a very able counsel specializing in family/property/revenue/civil matters..................for a considered opinion.

how did Anita's mother get hold of the property?
