Certified copy vs original copy of court order

My father in 2012 died leaving behind his few immovable properties, in 2014 we got decree from court transferring those in the name of my mother. I have certified copy of that court order. Somebody told me that certified copy of court order is not enough , you need to have original court order.I asked my lawyer and he told me that original copy is always in court and only certified copies are issued , can anybody please tell me who is misleading me? the person who told certified copy is not valid or my lawyer. Thanks
