Changing the surname on sale deed

Hi,

I had purchased a house 1 year back and the sale deed has both mine and my wifes name on it. Now we are thinking of changing my wife's surname to include my surname so I wanted to know if we need to modify the sale deed also or just the original sale deed and marriage certificate will be sufficient.
