Citizenship

My mother is from Assam. She got married to my father who is a citizen of Nepal. And after marriage my parents are living in Nepal. My mother is now a citizen of Nepal. I was born at my mothers place in India in 1995. I have my birth certificate issued by Registrar of Births and Deaths from Assam. Indian Citizenship rules require that "A person born in India on or after 1 July 1987 is a citizen of India if either parent was a citizen of India at the time of the birth." I fulfill this condition. For the past two years I am studing in India Now I want pursue higher studies in India. I am applying for Joint Engineering Entrance Exam for admission to IITs and NITs. But the eligibility of these exams are only for Indian Citizens.

Now since I fullfil the conditions required to be a Citizen of India by birth..am I eligible to apply for these exams as Indian National??

For the past two years I am studing in India..am I not an Illegal migrant??

Can I get an Indian Passport??
