Civil suit against personal loan from a person who deceased

My father got a pesonal loan from SBH on 2006 the loan got converted into NPA on 2012,

My father died on march 14th 2016, after one year now suddenly a person from bank came and said we have already started the process of civil suit and given this case to lawyer and he asks our opinion on whether we would like to pay or refuse to pay the loan amount.

The loan was taken from the bank when the salary was attached to the bank with no surity, but before repaying the loan my dad has shifted the salary attachement to different bank.

My mother now receives pension, we have a home which is still under a loan to be repaid, and a land property.

principle 1.3L , interest 1.5L

They said if we cannot pay the money within 2 month they can aquire the property on the name of my father.

Can they really go against the property of the deceased person?

If the property of my father is trasfered to any of the family members will it still be aquirable?

please suggest

thank you.
