Recenty i have applied for the housing loan in SBI. The bank wanted me to register a memorandum in a 5000RS stamp paper. I have registered it in coimbatore periyanayakanpalayam registrar office and submitted to the bank. During the verification in bank we found the boundaries are mentioned wrong. Bank rejected it and asked me to correct it and give it back.
I went back to the document writter saying to correct that. He said the document was already scanned in register office and they sent the CD to Chennai. They said at this point we can't do the correction. They said I have to cancel the registered memorandum and I have to register a new one. They also said, now the Tamil Nadu gov. have raised the memorandum registration charges and it will cost around Rs.17,000/- they said.
Can someone let me know the following.
1. Can we able to correct a registered memorandum?
2. If so what is the procedure? If not what are the other options?
3. How much amount I need to spend?
