Criminal defamation

Hi,

In 2008, some people from a colony got a false FIR registered in my name for damaging government property. This was to pressurise me to allow the a passage through my land. They also published in newspapers that I had tried to encroach government property and damaged it. They had no proof. Now the final order is expected anytime and is expected to be in my favor as the original complainants did not turn up to give evidence and warrants were issued. Then they turned up and severely contradicted their own allegations in the FIR.

Is a case for criminal defamation made out in this case as they also got it published in the local newspapers.Could you please advise. I have to teach the a lesson through the process of law so that they do not dare to do this in future to anyone.

you can file for compensation for defaming your name to them by filing seperate defamation case against them .
