that judge had hoped that you would be too afraid to ask it back. haha! you have taught him a lesson. What a shameless freeloader! These days I never lend my books to anyone. If they want any specific ref I tell them to photocopy that portion

if you are able to prove he had taken your book, then just make a complaint to the registrar general of the high court of concerned state. but think a lot before taking such a step.
