At the time of adducing evidence, there is a stage to file original documents in support of your case.  At that stage, there is no need to seek permission of the court and you can file original documents with you.  So, if the documents are filed and exhibited, it is very well legal.  However, if the documents are exhibited, that does not mean that the contents are proved and you as a defendant, can adduce evidence to challenge the contents.  Also, you can cross examine the plaintiff on the contents of those documents. deepak.kharpudikar@gmail.com
