I had resigned from the company and even served my notice period and joined some other company but still my older company is crediting my salary to my account . I want to know if I might go to jail if I don't pay back because I don't want to get into trouble please help me out

As this money do not belong to you, it would be better that you return the money by a cheque with a covering letter informing the previous company about their erroneous credit given to you and retain a copy of the covering leter and a photocopy of the cheque sent to avoid future litigation/legal problems
