I need accurate info regarding the following:
An Individual/Sole Proprietorship looking to do the following;
1) EXPORTING SERVICES ONLINE: Marketing, Advertising
2) IMPORTING SERVICES ONLINE: Outsourced tasks (to mainly freelancers) like data entry, copywriting, coding(html, php, webdesign).
3) SELL INFO PRODUCTS ONLINE: selling digital/info products like ebooks, newsletters etc.
My queries:
1) Does the INDIVIDUAL/SOLE PROPRIETOR need an IMPORT EXPORT CODE? When is this code required ?..During taxation?
2) Does the INDIVIDUAL/SOLE PROPRIETOR need Service Tax Number and also would it be required to payService tax? (Considering the Income generated to be of any limit). If there are any limits involved Please State.
What activities is this required for? For Exporting/Importing Services or Selling info products or BOTH?
3) Does the INDIVIDUAL/SOLE PROPRIETOR need any other license or legalities? Please state.
Also if the residence is in Karnataka, Bangalore. Or would the requirement differ in other states of the country?
4) For the above activities and license/legalities, is there a need to form a legal entity such as SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP or is it possible as an INDIVIDUAL? If its required to incorporate, How to form a SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP? How would it be beneficial in either way?
The business activities will be solely done ONLINE.
