Legal Documents executed outside India

Dear All,

Please advise, when a legal document has been executed outside India, then to verify the integrity of executed documents -

a) Either do the notarization from foreign legal counsel

b) Or perosn go to Indian embassy / consulate situated in that country

Is it mandatory to follow one of these method or there is any other route.

Regards,

Option b) as mentioned by you is accepted... reason being....you need to produce the documents before court as an evidence, if the need arises... the court accepts the method as b) above

Dear Querist,

Please note that process for getting executed document validify a foreign country is as follows:

First Notarisation, then the same would verified and attested & authenticated by the immigration department of home country and finally the same needs to be consularised by the Indian embassy situated in that forign country. Then only it becomes a valid document in India.
