Police are protected by law from any punishment

no body can sue a police on the ground that he misbehave during arrest with the accused. the police is protected by law. this means that police can do anything with the accused and he could not be punished at all? how human is india's legal system?

For the police harrashment accused can approach the human rights commission or he can file private complaint, but it is not possible, police  can do anything and they are for that.
