Prescribed Holidays in a year

Hi

Can you anyone help me in telling me is there any prescribed number of holidays can be given in a year... like some of my HR friends told it is 12 and some told 14.. can i have a clear idea about this.. I'm in a urgent need of this detail..

Hi 4 national holidays + 5 festivaal holidays +(Employer specific like founders day)or broad minded emp may add any amts) this is asper Factories act and NFH acts std is 9 ok regards partha

In case the National Holidays &/or Festival holidays is coming in a weekly off, then there is no need to give any compensatory Holiday in lieu of this. Thus while the 9 days are Holidays, in effect in some years, depending on when these days fall, the actual holidays may also be less.
