I just received a SCN from passport office stating that I have not resided at my permanent address for the stated period.
Now let me explain what the scenario is -
Actually my permanent address is Nasik (MH) and I've been living in Pune since past 6 years (and still residing there) for educational purpose. At the time of police verification (in Nasik), I sort of lied and stated that I live in Nasik from past 1 year (which I do not) and completed my graduation in duration of 2010 - 2013. But the fact is I still live in Pune.
I did this to bypass the police verification at Pune (which I shouldn't have). I thought that I might get passport at earliest but it has become a big trouble for me.
Please suggest me what should I do? I mean what should I reply to the show cause notice? Should I tell the truth and request for re-police verification at both places?
