Stamp duty calculation

Stamp duty rate is 4.9 % plus 1 % for Reg. in Gujarat

If  Mr A  has done Agreement to Sale with Mr  B  for property worth Rs 1 lac. In Agreement to Sale, it is mentioned that the The Seller has to make Deed of Sale in favour of Mr  A  or his nominee/assignee. Now during the execution and registration of Sale Deed, what will be the Stamp Duty ? Will there be double Stamp Duty of Rs 11800 (if considered Sale this way, Mr  B  > Mr  A  > Nominee/Assignee) or Will the Stamp duty be only one time ie Rs 5900??

Stamp Duty and Registration fee will be charged for Agreement for Sale and for Sale Deed only Registration fee will be charged, so you dont have to pay stamp duty again.

Stamp duty is payable one time only...i.e at the time of registration of Sale Deed or Agreement to Sale...for internal arrangements u can execute Sale Deed on Stamp Paper as per local laws and get that notarized.
