My brother has died in a road accident last month. He was on back seat of scooty (Activa), driven by his friend. Scooty was insured. May we apply for claim from the manufacturer of the scooty or not? If yes than what's the process?
And is there any claim from local administration also?

The claim cannot be from the manufacturer of the scooty but it should be against the insurance company with whom the scooty is insured. Recently IRDA has given out instructions to all Insurance companies to cover the risk of pillion riders.

Yes, I agree that claim will be against insurance company, not against of manufacturer.

You can make a claim from the insurance company.
