Agricultural land

Hi,

I am Anil Kumar from Bangalore, a professional working with a MNC. I have a serious desire to buy agricultural land.

My grandfather & maternal uncle had agricultural land & have sold them. My income is greater then 2 lakh per annum. As per the law am I allowed to buy agricaultural land & also i read a clause about Asst commissioner having the authority to graznt permission, is this true.
