Can brother-in-law get my house?

Hello,

I have a house in nainital built by my own money and is registered on my name.

few months ago, My brother-in-law took the registry(original) from my mother living in the house without my knowledge. and gave it back when I told him to give after 3 months.

When I asked him why you took the registry, he told he took it to show his lawyer friend, so that he can make a similar registry for his purchased land.

I was fine with his answer. but, one day I discussed this with my best friend. he told that people make registry on their own name and take house.

I am asking that can he make a fake registry and take the house?

I have the original registry now. can he do so or I am fearing without any reason?
