Caste of son - husband is non-brahmin; wife is brahmin

Dear Experts,

I am facing quite an irritating situation at home. I am a non-brahmin bengali (tili caste) & my wife is a brahmin bengali. We have a son 1+ years old.

Now my wife has expressed her sincere desire to go ahead with the thread ceremony for our son when he grows up. I am obviously against this.

Do I have a legal option to stop her from proceeding with this? Please let me know...

Best Regards

Marriage is an institution.

Resolve with understanding.
