My wife was the victim of a Purse Snatching incident while living in Haryana. She had sustained fracture in the incident due to falling down when pulled by purse snatchers on bike. A PCR van had picked her and taken to a nursing home for treatment and had filed a case. The Purse Snatchers were late apprehended by Police and case was filed.
Now more than one year after the incident, she has received summons to appear in Court for giving evidence. She now lives in Goa and going back to Haryana just to give the evidence will be a huge burden. Can she ignore the summon? What is the remedy if she does not wish to depose?
