Change of Lawyer

I want to relieve my current lawyer from my case and later appoint a new one.

Do I need NOC from him?  If yes, can I get a general NOC or does it have to be in favour of my new lawyer?

What should the NOC state?

Please guide.
Thanks.

talk to your new lawer.

according to law it is not necessary. but to avoid their internal dispute sometimes lawyers demand it.

sometimes old lawyer  extract money on this ground.

may i suggest on your point that if any already engaged lawyer is being discontinued from any case, he must be informed with thanks and you may ask your new lawyer to have a talk with previous one about he is now your lawyer.
