Changing place of birth on passport

Hi All,

I need to get my place of birth corrected on my passport and I understand that I need to get first class magistrate's order for that. I want to understand if the magistrate has to be from the same place as my actual place of birth or place of birth as recorded in my passport? Can you please also let me know the time it takes for this process ?

Kindly refer me some lawyer in Chandigarh who can help me out with this.

Thanks.

Puneet

You can choose lawyer by browsing search for lawyer option in this portal. For correction in passport, the court is required.

You need to get the attestation of the Magistrate of the place of your birth and not the lace mentioned in your passport. for lawyers in Chandigarh, make a search in the LCI data base itself.
