Christian boy seeking divorce from wife

A Christian boy who was married in the church wants divorce from his wife on ground of desertion. wife not living ith him since the last 2 1/2 yrs. Both are Khasi tribe which follows matriarchial family both lived away from the girls house but one day the girl left him after arguments between them. They are incompitable wife abuses him always and dominates as well. Can he file a desertation as a cause or since according to customery law the boy should live with wife which he doesnt will go against him. He wanted to go for mutual divoce but wife seeking alimony of 50 lakhs which is unimaginable. The wife is wroking in a govt college as professor while the boy has small time business which is not at all self sufficiant. Kindly help on what grounds should he seek divorce they have a son of 4 yrs

Yes, u/s 10 of Indian Divorce Act, you can file for the divorce. The condition of 2 years of desertion is valid in this case.

prior to amendment of christian divire act only ground for applying divorce is adultery after ammending the said act all grounds of hindhus are applicable to the christians also but the point for discussion for obtain divorce on desertion harid mehathe is rightly answered the proof of desertion and other things decided by the court is taking some time mean while the care and custody of the boy and maintenance and points are arosed such a situation the object of the party who seeks divorce await some time for his reliefs beter try to reconcillation it will futile  take the recourse.

firstly find what is there matrimonial home. after marriage where they started their newly married life. it seems that wife's residence was his matrimonial home, because that tribe has such custom/provision. in that case,not she but he deserted the spouse.

you take cruelty & desertation both the grounds.
