Company wants to submit original experience letters

Hello Everyone,

My wife has joined a company, as part of the joining she is asked to submit her Original Experience and Relieving letter from the previous company.

Her previous company as per thier policy given a single letter as experience and relieving letter.

Please let me know if its correct by law for the company to keep original letter of employees.

What should be the best thing we can do.

thanks

Sam

No.

Lady may submit copies and ask the employer to mark OSV on the copies by examining the originals in her presence, accept notary attested copies, attested by gazetted Officer.Lady must not leave the originals with employer.

The comapny should describe the reason and period for which it wants to retain the original certificates.Lady can take a call on such letter.

Lady must not handover the original documents without an official acknowledgment under original seal and signature of the competent employee of the company authorised by the appointing authority.
