Sir,
One person has filed a false police complaint against me ( I stay in Lucknow ) and my brother who is staying in Canada.I hold my brothers power of attorney Police have filed a closure report in the complaint due to lack of evidence.
Now
1.how can my brother file a defamation against them. Can it be filed by me in India on the basis of Power attorney.

Is the nature of complaint or imputation puts the lowers reputation of person in the eyes of third person you have to eye on this.
