Is domestic violence case is Civil law or Criminal law? Is it mandatory to appear to the court, Or If i appoint lawyer like other Civil cases is fine? Please let me know sir..Thanks

DV case is criminal in nature, quasi criminal. It totally depends on your otherwise good fate if you dont attend and court wont issue warrant for you failing to appear in court hall on the said date.
I suggest, that inspite you have a lawyer to attend the case dates, your presence is much required in court hall.
Magistrates are usually leniant towards woman/females, do not be surprised if a warrant/NBW be issued in your name as wel as co-accused name for not attending court date.
