DV Act Fast Forward-Shelter Homes for Indian Mens coming up

Title: DV Act Fast Forward - Indian Men's Rites Activists self contributing to build SHELTER HOMES FOR BATTERED INDIAN MENS

“I must be the first man in the Balkans to admit that I have been battered by my wife,” Dusan Stojkovic said with a wry smile, speaking from Serbia’s first safe house for battered men. It took a lot for the man who is in his fifties to reach out and get help, breaking a taboo in a country where men still cling to a fierce macho image.  Stojkovic has been in the safe house for abused men in central Cuprija, the first in Serbia, since it was founded in July 2009 by the Safety for Men non-governmental organisation. “My wife and her daughters (from another marriage) hit me with baseball bats,” he said, thumbing through his thick legal file. After the beatings, Stojkovic said, his wife accused him of battering her, saying she fought back in self-defence. He assumed this was his spouse’s way to get her hands on his assets: the house and his dog breeding business."

Now a aam adami's comment:
Men's Rites movement in India have volunteered to self contribute and build 50 such shelter homes for battered Indian Men facing DV Act, 2005. This is what is happening to hundreds of Indian Men currently hit by (SC rightly said that it is clumsily drafted) DV Act (Domestic Violence Act, 2005). Indian Men are loosing their homes i.e even if in his name his wife will be at home and he will be on the streets. Mother-In-Laws are loosing their homes to bala Daughter-In-Laws. Modalities for contribution to build the Indian Men's shelter homes project will be discussed at Annual Meet, 2010 of Indian Mens group at  Yarkud, Karnataka coming week.

@ Ms. Kaur,

Good question. Simple answer is equal to shelter home means husband should plead for equity in such situations by pressing to send wife to a Government Shelter Home with payment for such charges directly to Govt. Shelter Home Accounts Department.

It is not an eye for eye thinking, which many will find alien with one shot reading of above gyan but it is purely equity based thinking.  Now do you agree kya ?

Eg.: A husband is battered from domestic violence, society laughs at such husband (mardangi) and calls him impotent so he goes to his own peers built shelter home, wife files DV case and gets protection order (means residence order), so where it will be administered since the husband himself is currently in a shelter home ?, Obviously equivalent shelter home to wife with payment from husband is what Law will say.

Now either u challenge this justification and go to khap panchayat what else will be left for wife to accept or reject now !

I am sure there will be now two voices for / against above practical gyan;

1.
70% will say Husbnad has done this intentionally - so keep explaining and batter him more at khap panchayat let us see now what Hon'ble SC will direct in such situation :-?

2. 30% will say Wife should get equivalent status - yes, I agree, right, so take the offer of Govt. shelter home or equivalent money of a shelter home and live in a barsati (means place of your choice but money only  equivalent to his shelter home which currently husband is living in) same standard is not what DV wife is asking as relief kya, so we are giving you same standard atleast he is not denying her rightful rites na  ! :-)

Any more counter productive argument Ms Kaur !
