High court practice

Dear friends,

I am a lawyer practicing in the labour court. I was doing my juniorship which I stopped in order to prepare for a competitive exam. I am not sure whether I will be able to clear it and I do not want to spend any further time just giving exams . I wish to start working again.I was thinking of swithing to the civil practice and begin practicing as a junior in the high court. But I  have been advised by people that it is better to work in the trial court first befor practicing in the high court What shouuld I do? Please advise I need to decide fast.

Thank You.
