How many members are required for association formation in a residential layout in bangalore

Dear Sir,

In our Residential layout (located in Jigani location, Bangalore), around 150 sites are there. We are planning to create a formal association among us. How many members are required for association formation in our residential layout?

Also please let us know the documentation formalities and duration to register the association formally. Please advice.

Any suggestion depends upon the law under which the association is to be registered.

For registration of an association under the Society Registration Act, of 1860 (now amended in some states) minimum of 7 members are required to form an association.

Under KSRA, Under Section 1 of the Act, any seven or more persons who have come together for any legal pursuits, including literary, scientific, charitable or social pursuits, may subscribe their names to a memorandum of association and file the same with the Registrar and form themselves into a society under this Act.

This association can be formed under the KSRA only.
