Hi, one of my friend recently got a mail from HR saying that for her level, the notice period is increased from three months to six months. Also, there could be 3 months of gardening leave. for the notice period, there is no mention of pay in lieu of notice period. It is also stated that earlier letter which they had signed will be super seded by this mail.
My query is that is such long notice period legal? how much is the max notice period can a company ask to give?

Is this email addressed to you or is a circular and have you replied to it?................
Is it stated in earlier signed letter that the service conditions can be changed anytime and employee agrees that any change shall be acceptable to employee?
