Labour law with regards to private organization

Is it against India Labour Law to ask employees to work on National holidays(15th Aug, 2nd Oct)?

If the organization does so, is it liable to law suit?

What does the law speek about compensation in such situations?

Dear Amit ji,

In Such situations, should get permission from the Labour Department  to open the Establishment and to work employees on particular day.  And the Employees those who are working on particular day, they should be    compensated with double day salary.
