Liability of service after leaving

Hi,

I need your advice to know, If any of the employee leave the job and after several years, if one of his customer file a case to his work which he done during his service (for example - service of any computer peripheral) and sending a summons to him to appear in court without copying to the Company where they actually have / had the contract at that time, But that employee is no more connected with that organization,

* what is the employee's liabilities.

* And if he is not available in the same state but staying around 800 km far.

* How can he approach to the Company where he was working earlier during that time.

Thanks

Employee is not liable until or unless employee is charged for corruption, intimidation, forgery, cheating etc.

You may approach a competent and experienced lawyer and submit a carefully drafted letter to employer to take care of the complaint of the customer, and exclude employee from proceedings. If it is felt appropriate by your lawyer your lawyer mat submit a reply to the court.
