I live in an apartment complex, in Jalandhar city, Punjab, having 2/3/4 BHK flats. The committee constituted by builder (society not registered yet) has fixed maintenance charges on per sq.ft of super area of flat, while the services/amenities provided are equal for all viz. security, common areas lighting, garbage collection, lifts(2 lifts for each block of 24 flats), cleaning of common areas, water supply from borewell, power backup (1kVA per apartment), gymnasium and swimming pool.
As an owner of 4 BHK flat, I feel its unfair as i end up paying almost twice as much as a 2 BHK owner for the same set of amenities as listed above.
Is there a legal remedy for this problem?
Thanks in anticipation.
