Misconduct by customers.

If a customer at a bank tries to harass the employee in the name of unsatisfactory services rendered to him & intimidate by issuing life threats to him, does a banker has any right to protect himself via proper legal channels as is the case with medical practitioners where laws does comes to their rescue in case of threats issued while performing their duty?

The Transactions in the bank are covered by CCTV coverage and might be with audio support too.

The employee of the bank has been issued with proper guidelines on how to escalate such issues.

He/she should adhere to these.

His/her superiors won't subscribe to his individual preference.

It is a serious charge on the customer and Bank, its reputation, business interest, image is at stake in times of stiff competition.

Of course threatening any one by anyone with life is offence.

It can be taken up legally and the Bank manager can lodge a complaint against the miscreants with the local police about their misconduct and posed threats.

Per-se even he as victim can also file complaint.  But full facts are not there no no conclusive view can be formed.
