Playing in Housing Society

I live in a housing society in New Panvel, Maharashtra.
The society has issued a notice stating that playing in society after 7:30pm is restricted. Whereas we youths (Age 16 to 25) start playing badminton from 7:30 as many of us go for job and return hime by 7 or late.
The reason given by the society is 10th and 12th class exams but there are hardly 4-5 students in 10th class. Out of these 50% student have their flats on the back side of the society (i. e., not facing the society compound).
So can the society implement any such restrictions on playing in society compound for 2-3 people out of 90 (approx) flats?
Their was no such decision taken in the AGM and this notice is suddenly issued and stopped us from playing.

Please let me know whether this is legal and if not what action can we take?
