Offlate I have noticed a group of policemen (not Traffic) near my home spending most of their time under the shade of a tree, stopping Bikers and asking for the Documents. The best of all is they pretend to take notes of defaulters in a note book (scribble, not write) and do not provide a receipt for the money taken. Is this permitted. If not permitted, where do i esculate this issue. Please advice

Police Commissioner or SSP of your area.
The activities of the policemen can be filmed. The sufferers can also lodge a complaint and give witness.
The complaint can also be lodged with DSP/SP Vigilance section.
The councilor of your area, some NGO, welfare association can also be roped in. This shall be to check the corruption, coercion prevalent in the society. If a written complaint is lodged RTI route can be used later to find the action taken.
