Unlike High Courts, and the Hon'ble Supreme Court, District Courts are not courts of record, meaning that their judgements are not kept for perpetual record and are liable to be destroyed in accordance with High Court rules, of course after some due time, therefore their rulings also are not of precedential value, but only of persuasive value to a Judicial officer who may be lower in hierarchy. Therefore if a lower court is of a different view, the same can very well take a diverging view of the matter, than that of its hierarchial superior provided the said view ultimately finds favour with the law declared by concerned High Court or Supreme Court in that regard or on that point. So, in theory, there is no concept of lower court overruling a District Court.
