Dear Sirs,
My father-in-law in Gujarat is having an agriculture land in his name. He gets the land NA (non agriculture) by following proper procedure. NA/certificate orders are also received before around 9 months. Now my query is as follows
1) Can he purchase new agriculture land in his name? If yes, is there any time frame within which he needs to purchase agriculture land to retains his farmer status.
2) Is there any law like once a farmer, always a farmer by which he can purchase any agricuture land throughout his life as he used to be a farmer once.
