Reference to psychriatist

Hi all

In my maintenace case, my wife has gone to and fro on the decision to resume her marital life. She was not willing initially, then said she is willing and again she said she is willing. Judge has asked both of us to undergo psychriatic analysis. Is this normal or a rare step? What are the dos and donts here? Please advise

Do not call yourself victim.

Everyone is a pleasant human being as long as they respect others and plan and live their life.

"Psychiatric analysis..." suggestion by a judge is a humiliation on you and your wife by a judge.

So much of ugly situation you allowed a judge to create for you.

Forget the judge and the court.

Judges are not god nor can understand your real situation.

In this world, everyone needs psychiatric analysis.

And your own parents, relatives and friends are the best for your psychiatric analysis.

Forget the judge and the court.

As your wife is not 100% sure of marital separation, there is a very good chance that your marriage can be saved.

If you also have some love and trust left on your wife and your marriage, then, please go away from court.

Both of you take vacation and meet in a pleasant place in presence of trusted relatives and friends.

Talk openly. Then decide. Be open and positive.

If everything goes fine, tear your court papers and throw it in court dustbin.

Live happy life together.

Then never ever pass that "family court building" which has nothing to do with family but some legal procedure.

Else, please work out a mutual consent divorce and submit to the court.

Do not allow you, your wife and marriage to be humiliated in the court.

Psychiatric analysis by which authority ? Is it a written order by the Judge ? If so, you have to comply of course. And there are really no do's and don'ts for this kind of test. Just be yourself. And don't answer in ways which will obviously indicate wrong behavior - which any normal person would not do.

It is outrightly legitimate desire of the judge and the judge while adjudicating the matrimonial cases including maintenance has the responsibility to take steps to restore the relationship instead of stamp out.  Your wife is wavering to come to any definite decision, because she looks back into her matrimonial relationship and finds some positive points and also some negative points.  Further, when she broods into future, she gets certain trepidations to live with you under the same roof and also equal amount of sceptism to live all herself leaving you.  Such type of qualms are quite natural for any prudent person slipped in quagmire.  What a psychiatrist does is to have a open discussion with you both separately and find out the root cause of matrimonial disturbances by peeping into inner recesses of the mind, which,we in normal conditions fail to see and analyse.  No harm to go to psychiatrist to resolve the issues and it can't hurt and you both may come out resolving the irritants cropping up between you and lead a blissful married life.  It happens quite often in developed world to meet a 'shrink' to find out the problem and its solution.  There are several problems like short temper, visiting parents quite often leaving the matrimonial home, doubting the husband's character, using abusive language etc. etc. which are really psychological problems, but in India we treat them at social level without understanding the root cause of their problem and live a life of hell.  So, my final suggestion is go ahead and follow the judge's advice.
