What is the procedure for registration of an adoption deed in Maharashtra? How long is the deed valid and what is the time frame within which the deed has to be registered after the court order has been received? We have been informed by our lawyer that the deed is valid for a period of one month after which it expires if not registered. Is there a fee that is applicable for the registration of the adoption deed ? If so how much is the fee?

The adoption deed is to be registered with the Sub-Regitrar where you reside in its jurisdiction. There is nominal fees to be paid for the registration, then only it is valid adoption deed.

No.Adoption deed is not required to be registered as per the Indian Registration Act.
