responsibility to intimate home branch in case of digital or ATM fraud

We have summoned by police authorities for inquiries in a case where complainant filed FIR against bank manager and cashier (We) for involvement in fraudulent ATM withdrawal from his account.
though complainant doesn't hold account at our branch and we as a banker entered his request for reversal of amounts.
Now police officer ask us that it is our responsibility to intimate his home branch for fraudulent transactions and liable for loss to customer.
kindly advise with law

If the fraudulent transactions continue even after you have informed the bank, your bank will have to reimburse those amounts.

The bank is alerted of suspicious activity through either the bank's detection system or from fraud claims from customers. They then collect all the information they have before conducting a thorough investigation. They then review all the details and make a decision on the case before taking action

So you can inform the police about it accordingly

Inform home braqunch of the customer as well as police qua action taken by the Bank.
