SEC 208 OF HMC ACT 1955

Halo,

It is about the "Notice of Transfer of Property" under section 208 of HMC Act 1955 that has been signed by the joint owners i.e. My brother and self. In this case, on registration of the GIFT DEED wherein my father has gifted his one third share to us. What exactly does this Notice of Transfer of Property define?

My father has to sign the above stated proforma so that the Muncipal Authorities transfer the property on the joint names of my brother and self. Why should the joint owners sign the same?

Please clarify the purpose of the same. Please find attached the copy of the signed Notice. One advocate Narasimha Rao working at the Sunil Ganu Advocates Office located at Hyderguda has obtained the same stating that it would take 45 days for the Muncipal Authorities to transfer the property on the joint owners names.

Please explain.
