Dear Ram Samudre, One of the finest policy that the Indian Parliament enacted for the eliviation of the conditions of the poorest of the poor in the Country is this Act, known as The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. Unfortunately, this policy became a money minting and money making for many corrupt politicians in the Countryand ofcourse with the support of the base Officials like the Rural development Department and BDOs level etc, making the schemes meaningless for whom the schemes was made by the finest economic brain of the Cpountry. The mot pathetic part is that, violation of the act was made as punishable with a mere one thousand by siphoning off Crores of money meant for the Rural poor for whom the money was sanctioned. The National Rural Employmen Guarantee Act, 2005: "Section 25:- Whoever contravenes the provisions of this Act shall on conviction be liable with a fine which may extend to One Thousand Rupees".Can you imagine? a programme officer under the Act, can get away with crores of money meant for the poorest of the poor for whom the Act was enacted, and if he contravenes the provisions of the Act, a mere Rs.One Thousand will be imposed as penlty. What do you think of it? Whereas, a man with an empty stomach who steals a bread can be punished with imprisonment of not less than seven years. where is our Law?
