Statements made by accused under influence of liqour

Now, we have this so called truth serum, but if a statements is made by the accused or a witness in a drunken state under the influence of liquor, can it be regarded as gospel truth like the truth serum?

When a statement of the accused to be relevent under evidence . Section 24 of the Indian Evidence Act, stipulates that the confessor should be free from threat, coercion, allurement  even he should be free from any influence by intoxication. In the abscence of the above  requirements the statement is irrelevent and cannot be relied upon.
