Is your father alive!

yes, you can transfer shares to your father as gift. Gift can be given to the living person only.

Recepient of gift from blood relation neednot pay any tax on the value of gift received. You need to transfer gift of shares as per his demat account name.

In such cases outright sale of estate is suggested.

Rest your own counsel well versed with finer nuances of the matters can advise you the best.
